With the moon glowing over the Miami River, Commissioner gathered at the home studios of artist Antonia Wright and her partner, Ruben Millares. It was the first reveal of Commissioner’s Season Seven—and as a photographer, I was once again reminded of how powerful this community is.

Antonia shared Something More Beautiful—a cyanotype on cotton rag created just for this group. Watching her explain her process, which involves smashing tempered glass over treated paper to let the sun create the final image, I was struck by how poetic and raw it all felt. The act of breaking glass as a creative gesture… it felt both vulnerable and strong, much like the energy in the room.

Every Collector member received one of these prints—an edition of 50 made possible by the collective support of this wild, art-loving group. Nights like this remind me why I do what I do.
